Monkey Mia Resort

13 - 16 November 2022

First thing!! Laundry!! No dryer and we had to buy the clothes pins (pegs).

One of the Monkey Mia (pronounced My-uh) regulars.

This guy was hanging out next to a lady who was fishing, hoping for a snack.

We went walking along the beach, after breakfast.

Monday Morning: Dolphin feedings occur 3 times a day, 7 days a week. This is a Monkey Mia tradition.

Emus visit us at breakfast.

We drive into Denham to visit the Shark Bay Discovery Site. Shark’s Bay is an International Heritage Site. They had a terrific 3-D film about the sinking of the Sydney II during WWII.

.Later that evening, we were back at the Monkey Mia resort for a sunset cruise.

Tuesday: Wildlife Cruise, back on the Aristocat2, the same boat as our Sunset Cruise. We saw Dolphins, Gugongs and Loggerhead Turtles (not pictured).

The Captain of the Wildlife Cruise recommended we go to Eagle Bluff, where we saw amazing views of Eagle Bay. The water was amazingly clear. We could see sharks, rays, a gugong and we think a loggerhead turtle in the bay below. Unfortunately they were too far away to get photos. The wind was blowing like mad, so we didn’t stay long here. We stopped in Denham on the way back to Monkey Mia and had a swim at Nikka’s Beach.

We were treated to a gorgeous sunset our last night at Monkey Mia.
