Hobbiton

Anthony at his happy place

We got to our B&B Sunday afternoon, just in time to get cleaned up for our evening at Hobbiton. We were going to the evening tour and dinner at Hobbiton.

There were about 40 different Hobbit doors, each unique and told a story. Each hobbit hole was only a few feet deep, the detail was all on the outside. The doors were different sizes too, some big and some small all in order to help make actors look bigger or smaller.

Bag End, home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins

The tree on top of Bag End is fake. For the hobbit, Peter J wanted a tree that matched the one used in the LOTR but 60 years younger.

Sam’s house. Since there was only one mailbox, the thought was one home, two doors.

A little windy (and getting chilly)

After the tour of Hobbiton we had dinner at the green dragon.

The buffet was huge and really yummy.

After dinner the group went to the party grounds for a final goodbye. The night was clear and the moon was not up yet, so the stars were incredible. Julie asked everyone to turn off their lantern and we all enjoyed the stars for a few minutes.
